**NOT A PUPPY/LITTER**
German Shepherd – Female – 4 Years Old in August. I’m looking for a loving, experienced home for my German Shepherd, who turns 4 this August. This is not an easy decision, but due to changes at home, we’re struggling to give her the time and stimulation she needs. As a result, she can become over-hyper in the house, so it’s important she goes to a home that can properly meet her exercise and mental needs. She is incredibly soft-natured with adults and has a lovely, affectionate personality. Her absolute favourite thing in the world is a ball — she will happily play all day and is very driven, which makes her highly trainable. She knows a wide range of commands including: Sit, Down, Paw/Other Paw, Wait, Heel, Come, Place, and Give It. Her recall is good when on a long line, but she is strong-willed and can wander if given full freedom, so I wouldn’t trust her fully off-lead in open areas. In familiar places she tends to loop back and find you, but she’s safest exercised on a long line where she still gets plenty of freedom. She absolutely loves the outdoors and would suit someone who enjoys walking, hiking, or spending time outside daily. Even an hour or two of proper exercise makes a huge difference for her. At home, she can become quite hyper if there’s a lot going on and takes time to settle, which is why a calmer household would suit her best. She currently lives with my children (ages 10 and 1, and previously with my 8-year-old), and while she has built great bonds — especially with my older child — her size and excitability mean she can be too much for younger children at times. Because of this, I would ideally like her to go to a home without small children, or with older, confident children (around 12–13+). She can react to nervous energy (barking if held back), but this comes from excitement rather than aggression. She is not suited to being crated, as she can become destructive. She does much better being left in a room or free to roam a safe space — just be mindful not to leave items she could get hold of. She is due to be spayed — I am happy to arrange and cover the cost, or contribute if her new owner prefers to handle this. ⸻ Ideal Home: * Active individual, couple, or family * Experience with large/working breeds essential * No small children (older children considered) * Someone who can provide structure, exercise, and engagement ⸻ This is a special dog who will give a lot back to the right person. Serious enquiries only — finding the right home is the priority. Price is set to ensure a good home — this is negotiable for the right person.
