Charlotte is a very special little cat who needs an equally special person.
Before coming into her current foster home, Charlotte lived with her original rescuer, where she was known as a friendly, playful and affectionate young cat. She enjoyed human company, loved to play and had a real zest for life (see the longer video).
So we know that lovely, confident little cat is in there.
She moved to her current foster home about 2 months ago and is only now beginning to feel brave enough to show more of herself.
She still isn’t comfortable being handled by her new foster mum yet, but she is gradually becoming more confident as she learns that she is safe.
She simply needs someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed.
For that reason, we feel it would be kinder for Charlotte to move into her forever home sooner rather than later, rather than becoming completely settled with her new foster family and then having to start the process all over again.
Charlotte may initially hide, keep her distance and prefer not to be touched. Her new person will need to allow her to progress entirely at her own pace, without expecting affection straight away.
We believe that with patience, consistency and kindness, Charlotte will gradually blossom again into the playful and affectionate girl her rescuer knew.
🐾 And yes — Charlotte only has three legs!
Her left front leg was amputated, but Charlotte has adapted incredibly well. She walks independently, plays, runs around and manages normal life beautifully.
Her missing leg really doesn’t hold her back — although we hope it might help the right person see just how much this little girl deserves a chance. ❤️
🏡 Charlotte’s ideal home
We are looking for a very particular home for her:
• A quiet, calm adult home with no children
• Ideally no other cats, so she can feel completely secure in her own space
• Indoor only, or with access to a fully enclosed and cat-proofed outdoor area
• Someone who is home quite a lot and can quietly become part of her everyday world
• An adopter with previous cat experience, ideally someone who understands shy, nervous or sensitive cats
• Most importantly, someone with no expectations or deadlines for when she should become affectionate or comfortable being handled
Charlotte needs someone who will love her even while she is still learning how to trust them.

Charlotte is in good health and currently takes no medication.

• Microchipped
• FIV/FeLV negative
• Left front leg amputated
• Independent and well adapted to life on three legs
💕 The person we are looking for
Charlotte isn’t the cat for someone wanting an instant lap cat.
She is the cat for the person who finds something incredibly rewarding in earning an animal’s trust slowly.
Someone who will celebrate the tiny milestones — the first time she stays in the room instead of hiding, the first time she chooses to sit nearby, the first tentative approach, and eventually, hopefully, the first cuddle.
She has already overcome so much in her short life.
Now Charlotte just needs one patient person willing to say:
“You don’t have to love me straight away. You have all the time you need.” ❤️
