Description
Charlie is 9 years old this year and has been the most amazing dog. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he’s always been very energetic and full of personality, he STILL is!.. He absolutely loves other dogs, although he can sometimes get a little too excited when meeting them.
Charlie is fantastic with children and cats. He has never bitten anyone and has never shown any aggression. I also have a 5-month-old baby who he gets along with wonderfully. He’s very protective and will often follow him around, checking on him if he cries. He really is the definition of a “nanny dog.”
He’s very affectionate and loves cuddles and giving kisses. Charlie is muzzle trained, although he hasn’t needed to wear one for around two years. He is also crate trained.
He knows all the basics — sit, spin, paw, lay down, and roll over — and he’ll even bark on command. He is definitely food-motivated though, so don’t expect much without a treat in hand!
Charlie can stay at home on his own for up to 12 hours without any accidents (we only discovered this by mistake once when we were delayed getting home). When we returned, the house was still perfectly in one piece. The only things he ever destroys are his toys, especially anything squeaky!
He is microchipped, vaccinated, and regularly treated for fleas and worms.
I love Charlie so much and will make every effort to ensure he goes to the right home. If I didn’t already have my hands full with a 5-month-old baby, he would absolutely be staying with us. Rehoming him is a huge loss for our family.
