Luna is a pedigree female Alaskan Malamute, born Feb 2023, now aged 3, pedigree and KC registered. We bought Luna from a breeder in Manchester and have all the paperwork to provide. She is up to date on her vaccinations, flea and worming, with annual vet health check ups. We have had a surprise third child which is the reason for rehoming her. Unfortunately, she just isn't getting the attention she deserves anymore and I fear we are neglecting her emotionally. She had a few skin issues when she was a puppy, but once we changed her food she hasn't had an issue since, so she does have some sensitivities to foods, which is common with the breed. She is also prone to ear infections. Generally, as long as you use ear cleaner she is fine, but if you lapse with it they do flare up. Other than this, no health issues at all. She is 35kg, which is very healthy for her size and great since they are a really greedy breed and she is no exception. She is great with children, very protective. She has lived with young kids since she was a pup. She does forget her size at times and can bowl over smaller children when playing in the garden. She will tell you off and stand in front of kids if you are rough playing and she doesn't approve. She used to be okay with other dogs, would play nicely but wouldn't stand for another dog having a go at her. However, since having the latest addition, we only ever walk her next to the pushchair and she is really protective of him, so she generally only lets a dog sniff for a few seconds before she starts growling at them. She has never bitten or been bitten by other dogs. She is trained, can sit, lie down etc. She does have recall but is very stubborn and it will be on her terms. It's always best to walk her first and gage her mood before letting her off in a field. She will chase cats and squirrels if given the opportunity. She has a good go at hares to. She hates baths and will howl in outrage the entire time. Loves being brushed, as long as you stick to her chest, after that she's lost interest and your disturbing her. Generally a great dog, very good with tiny humans but very stubborn and you do need to put your foot down with her sometimes because she can act like a toddler. Her face is very expressive so you will know exactly what she's thinking, she also wants to get the last word in.
