Description

My beautiful KC registered miniature poodle, Poppy, has had a litter of 5 gorgeous puppies, four girls and a boy. The puppies will soon be registered with the Kennel Club. Mum Mum is Poppy, a gorgeous KC registered red miniature poodle that we have owned since the age of 8 weeks. She was from health tested parents but I have also had her health tested so she has certificates of her own. Poppy has a number of champions in her lines. Poppy is DNA tested clear for the following genetic conditions, as recommended by the Kennel Club: • Degenerative Myelopathy (EXON 2) • Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) • Von Willebrand disease (Type I) • rcd4 PRA/LOPRA • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD) • Osteochondrodysplasia. She also holds a current clear eye test under the BVA with her last test being carried out in March 2025. She has the most wonderful temperament and is very sociable with other dogs and people and children. Dad Dad is also a red KC registered miniature poodle. He has also been DNA tested for • Degenerative Myelopathy • Neonatal Encephalopathy • Von Willebrand's Disease Type I • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD) • Osteochondrodysplasia • Gangliosidosis (GM2) He has also had his eyes tested clear under the BVA scheme and holds a current certificate. I will show all health certificates to you when you visit. Inbreeding Coefficiency The Kennel Club has an inbreeding coefficiency calculator on its website. The current breed average for miniature poodles is 3.8% and it suggests that “Where possible you should produce puppies with an inbreeding coefficient which is at, or lower than, the annual breed average for the breed (3.8%) , and ideally as low as possible. In general the lower the result, the lower the risk of the puppies having health issues.” Poppy’s puppies have a COI of 1% which is excellent. Pups will be brought up in our family home. Puppies will be exposed to different sounds from a young age (such as fireworks, vacuum cleaners, sirens, thunder etc); the thinking is that hearing these sounds in their safe home environment helps them to see these sounds as normal. Pups will also be exposed to different textures and smells; my aim is to produce confident pups that are able to deal with new situations. Pups are very likely to be doing well with house training by the age of 8 weeks. They will be used to going outside for wees and poos by the time they leave. These pups are being brought up in a loving home environment. They will be introduced to our three other dogs from around the age of 3-4 weeks. I am looking for forever homes for them where they will be loved and part of the family. Poodles are a breed that enjoy company and also make good company. My vet will check the pups at the age of 4 weeks (just prior to families visiting) and then again at 8 weeks. Written confirmation of the vet’s consultation will be provided. Pups will be wormed at the age of 3,5 and 7 weeks. I can also have the first vaccination given at 8 weeks if you would like; we would just need to make sure that your vet uses a vaccine from the same manufacturer or one that is compatible for the second vaccination but we can chat about this. Once families have visited and chosen their puppy, I will set up a WhatsApp group for all families. I can then post regular photos and videos so you can see how the pups are doing. This will also enable families to see how your pup’s siblings are doing after pups are in their new homes. If you think you could offer a loving home to one of my lovely puppies, please do get in touch! The boy has already been reserved as has one of the girls.
