Description
Meet Ollie, a surviving ex-street cat with a clear drive to make the most of his second chance at life.
Originally part of a TNR campaign last summer, Ollie turned out to need far more care than expected, including treatment for dental issues, an open wound under his jaw, an ear infection, and a later serious health scare. Thankfully, after full veterinary workups and recovery, everything came back clear, his issues were linked to trauma, and he has since bounced back with his signature attitude fully intact.
Ollie is very talkative and extremely interactive. He loves to play. He loves treats and will make sure you never forget it. He is an enthusiastic (and slightly messy...) eater, a very lazy drinker, and carries himself with the confidence of a cat who believes every moment should revolve around him.
He enjoys human company and affection, and can even be picked up and held. He will often actively seek attention and call you over for interaction. However, Ollie is very much a “on his terms” kind of cat. He has a clear threshold for affection, and it’s important that his body language is read carefully and respected.
At times, he may invite attention and then suddenly decide he is done. If that boundary is missed, he may respond with a quick paw correction. This is not random behaviour, but part of his unique way of interacting with people he is bonded to. He will be best suited with someone experienced who understands feline communication and is confident managing a cat who isn't afraid to tell you he's had enough love for the moment.
We also believe that Ollie’s behaviour may be influenced by environment and competition. In both foster homes, there have been other cats present, which may have made it harder for him to fully relax and feel secure in his space. A cat-free home may allow him to settle more, be less territorial, and show more of his calmer side.
Because of this, Ollie is looking for a cat-only home with no children, and an adopter who is patient, observant, and able to respect his boundaries while still enjoying his very engaging, very sweet, and very loving personality.
Ollie is:
✅ Vaccinated
✅ Dewormed
✅ Microchipped
✅ Neutered
✅ Blood tested (FIV-/FeLV-)
✅ Vet health checked
Underneath, is a resilient, expressive cat who has overcome a traumatic life on the streets and significant medical challenges and come through them with character in full force. Ollie is interactive, bonds easily, and loves with all his heart.
If you can offer Ollie a loving happy ever-after, please get in touch today! We will send you a link to complete our online pre-adoption form and we will also require a home video check as part of our process. If you have any questions, please reach out and one of our small team of volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please note: Every Cat Matters is an indoor-only rescue. This means all our cats should be kept in a safe, enriching indoor environment, unless they have access to a secure cat-proof garden, catio, or netted balcony.
We believe cats can live full, happy lives without free roaming outdoors. Keeping them safe indoors protects them from road accidents, injuries, contagious illnesses, and territorial fights—while also helping to preserve local wildlife. With love, enrichment, and security, indoor cats truly thrive and live their longest lives.
