Meet Belle
She is a Female Weimaraner aged 5 years old with a heart of gold looking for a loving home. She is around 25kg in weight so is very strong. We will tell you an honest story we drove over 9 hours to collect her from a home she clearly has been neglected and have been lied to. Her owner was rehoming her due to having an operation and being unable walk her (yet they have another male Weimaraner in the house). We have no medical history nor even a chip number but just wanted to get her away from the state she was in. She was sold to us apparently being fine with other dogs which we thought great as we are looking for a companion for our Hungarian Vizsla who are very similar in breed. It turns out we cannot even have them in the same room as she has taken a dislike to our Viszla and now our Viszla puppy is terrified.
From what we have seen, she is a loving dog that shows no sign of aggression to humans or other dogs but just doesn’t really like small dogs so I would recommend a dog only home. She’s great with our children but again she is a very big girl and still as clumsy as they come so I would recommend older children unless your younger is used to their energy where as my kids are from our Viszla. We have been told by the vets that she is underweight which we knew but not this severe however we thought we could work with this. She needs to gain around 5kg which is what we are currently doing. She’s very food driven and loves a treat. She is very strong and muscley just like they should be. She also has a fat lump which is quite visible due to her being so skinny however we did get this checked and had confirmation from the vets that this is just a fatty lump which is common in dogs but just so visible because she is skinny.
With the right owner and time to settle she will make such a great pet. It’s just a shame it has not worked out for us. The first to see her will fall in love with her just like we did. We are trying to locate a chip number for her even if we get her scanned over the next couple of days but as said apart from her being so skinny she is in good health and is happy from what we have seen.
Since she’s been with us she has been to the groomer’s to have her nails clipped and ears cleaned which she was no bother with the groomer at all. She will come with all that she needs beds, bowls, food, collar etc. She is not neutered, we was made aware that she has had one litter two years ago. She has no signs of having a litter anytime recently and vets had confirmed this also.
