Maelle/Microchip name: Miss Freya – Female, spayed, long-haired Ragdoll
Age estimated by the vet to be just under 1 year old in September 2025.
Maelle came to us at the end of September after we saw an advert from a lady closing her cattery and rehoming her remaining cats. She’s a friendly, affectionate young cat who enjoys attention and especially likes being around children. She lived with an 11 year old boy and seems very comfortable around him, he is also very gentle with her.
She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her last annual vaccination was 2 October 2025, and she also had a rabies vaccination on 22 December 2025. She is registered at Pets at Home Vets in Canley.
Maelle is a strictly indoor cat and is fully litter trained. She’s not fussy about litter, we use Sanicat clumping litter and she’s always been fine with that.
She currently eats Seriously Good wet food (about three times a day) and occasionally James Wellbeloved Turkey dry food if she’s still hungry.
In terms of temperament, Maelle is very affectionate and enjoys fuss, she’s happy being stroked pretty much anywhere (ears, belly, paws, tail etc.) and behaves well at the vet. She’s even tolerant of baths. The one thing she doesn’t like is being picked up much, so she’s happiest when she can come to you for attention on her own terms.
She gets along with our male cat, but does not get along with our female cat, so we think she would be happiest as the only pet in the home or possibly with a very calm male cat. We have never seen her around dogs.
One thing to be aware of is that she has an unusual way of walking. Our vet has examined her and believes she is not in pain and is otherwise healthy. The only way to know exactly what causes it would be an MRI scan, which we unfortunately cannot afford. Aside from this, she is a happy, playful young cat.
She was last treated for worms in October. As she is an indoor cat we haven’t needed to treat for fleas recently, but we do have Bravecto (flea treatment) and Profender (worming) at home which can go with her if needed.
We are looking for a patient, caring home for Maelle where she can get plenty of attention and settle in as part of the family. She is a lovely cat and deserves a home where she can be comfortable and happy.
