๐ Why Leo Needs an Urgent Foster
Leo lives in a very full household with multiple children (FOUR) and cats (FIVE), in a house without garden. As the home has become busier over the years with additionally lots of visitors coming to children, Leo has struggled more and more to cope. His responses have become unpredictable, especially around younger children, unfamiliar people entering the home, and one particular younger cat.
โI no longer trust Leo around my children, and they now tend to stay away from him, we have gone back and forth with this but it seems as heโs gotten older he no longer tolerates our home. My declining health also means heโs not getting out on walks as much now. โ
๐พ More About Leo
โLeo is a lovely boy if he likes you, heโs still got loads of energy in him despite his age, he LOVES a tennis ball and will have you scratch his chest all day long. We feel he now needs a home were he has one to one attention and maybe with older children as he loves my oldest whoโs 16 or no children at all, we feel he would prefer a home with no other animals however he is ok with other dogs. He is happy to greet other dogs at the likes of the vets and on walks. Leo is used to being alone for short periods of time he has never chewed or destroyed anything and just sleeps till you come home. Leo visits the groomer every few months to have his coat shaved as he is long haired and it helps with his dermatitis. He had a lot of teeth removed afew years ago but has no issues eating and enjoying treats. He is a little piggy and will sit and watch you eat, he is puppy mat trained as we donโt have a garden but will go to the toilet outside, he knows commands such as, wait, sit, stay. โ
Leo is a deeply bonded little dog. When he trusts you, he is affectionate, playful, and full of personality. He loves cuddling on the sofa, and being close to โhisโ person.
On walks, Leo starts off excited and then quickly relaxes, walking nicely beside you and waiting at roads. Inside the home, Leo is alert and vocal around outside noises and doorbell. He struggles when strangers โ particularly men โ enter his space, and needs careful, respectful introductions. He has some skin sensitivity and dermatitis that flares in warmer months, which is managed with grooming and vet care.
What Leo cannot cope with anymore is overcrowding. Too many people, too much movement, too many animals โ it leaves him on edge, unable to relax.
๐ก Ideal Foster Home
Leo needs a calm, adult household , ideally with no cats and minimal visitors. A single person or couple would be ideal. Older teenagers may be suitable, but young children are not.
He needs someone who understands small, sensitive dogs and can give him space, routine, and reassurance โ not pressure. In the right environment, Leo will settle, soften, and show the loving companion he truly is.
๐ Leo has given eight years of loyalty to one family, and now he desperately needs someone to step in before fear replaces trust completely.
