Description
Maria is a small, gentle girl of just over two years who is searching for the loving forever home she truly deserves. With her beautiful black coat brushed with a hint of brindle and the most adorable little underbite, Maria is as unique as she is lovable.
Maria’s story began with heartbreak. She and her daughter Anne were discovered by workers at a site where they had clearly been abandoned. One kind man tried his best to care for them, feeding them and even letting them nap in his car while he worked. But it was no place for two small girls to be safe. Thankfully, they were brought into safety so their journey to a better life could begin.
Since then, Maria has come a long way. She is now in the UK and being fostered in Maidstone while she waits for her forever family.
Maria is a gentle, slightly timid girl with the loveliest temperament. Once she feels safe and learns to trust you, she relaxes beautifully and enjoys cuddles and quiet time. We believe she may have lived in a home before, but sadly we don’t know anything about her past.
Her foster family describe her as a truly special little dog. Maria currently lives with several resident dogs and regularly meets visiting dogs for grooming, which has shown just how much she enjoys canine companionship. She often seeks comfort from other friendly dogs and really thrives with that companionship.
While Maria can be a little anxious when meeting new people, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved! She’s generally a very chilled little dog who is happy to spend time relaxing on her bed or curled up on the sofa beside you, but she also has lovely bursts of playful energy when the mood strikes.
The big wide world can still feel a little overwhelming for Maria at times, so she will need continued lead training and patient guidance as her confidence grows.
Maria’s ideal home would include:
* A secure garden where she can safely explore
* Patient adopters who will give her time to build trust
* Someone who is home most of the time, ideally working from home
* Another friendly dog, as she thrives with canine companionship
* Children aged 10+
* A family willing to continue her training and help her settle into home life
Maria has so much love to give and simply needs a family who will show her that she is safe and home for good.
