Description

This is Rudy (aka Rudy Pudy, aka Rudes, aka Rudy Baby, aka Baby Boy, aka Honey Bunch, aka Rudy Pudy Pudding Pie, aka Pudding) Rudy is a very ginger, very wonderful purebred cocker spaniel. He is one year and five months old (born 10th March 2025) and I’m trying to find other words to say that he’s a perfect boy. He is so friendly, so loving, so warm and cuddly and funny (in that way dogs can be funny), he’s loyal and unbelievably intelligent. His favourite game is hide and seek, his favourite food is scrambled eggs, and his favourite treat is a buffalo ear. He’s allergic to chicken but that’s okay, he loves his salmon food and is happy enough with turkey as a substitute. My partner and I raised Rudy from exactly 8 weeks old, we dedicated ourselves completely to his training, desensitisation, and wellbeing, and it’s paid off. Rudy is fully crate trained, his recall is excellent, he might not know any fancy tricks but he knows sit, stay, wait, paw, touch, jump, down, and ‘through’ (so he runs between your open legs and sits between your feet, great for training!). He is happy to be alone while you run errands or go to work and is always happy to cuddle, he particularly loves sleeping on a comfy chair or sofa somewhere nearby, so he can occasionally open an eye to check you’re nearby. He also loves sleeping in a wash basket, w don’t know why but it makes him happy so we’ve never told him no. He’s very very good with other dogs, very respectful of their space/boundaries and will always walk away from playtime when you call him or when the other dog is called away. Rudy has occasionally been out with a dog walker and thrives in that environment very much, but also loves a solo walk with whoever is lucky enough to take him out - he just doesn’t love it when it rains, he’s a fair weather boy. He likes parks but much prefers open terrain he can explore at full speed, like moorland, woodland, forests, beaches, and so on. One of his favourite games is to try to find scattered treats in the grass, or to find a tennis ball in dense brush. He’s obviously fully house trained, and is very very good on car journeys, no matter how long. He never barks in a stopped car and patiently waits for you to allow him in and out of the car, he’s happy to wait patiently. He’s good with kids, and hasn’t really met any cats but he could be very quickly trained in that regard. The health stuff - he’s completely up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped (we have the paperwork for his vaccines and microchip), and is not neutered in accordance with our vets’ recommendations as he is too young. He will take with him absolutely everything a doggy might need - crate, toys, matching sturdy collar/harness/lead, blankets, food recommendations, treats, a bowl, poo bags, licky mats, an expensive winter fleece and more. It’s sort of hard to tell in the pictures but Rudy is not a big dog. He stopped growing quite young and we expected another growth spurt but it just never came! He’s small but perfectly formed, with ridiculously long ears. We love him with our whole hearts, and rehoming him is an extremely difficult decision for us to make but we are making it with him in mind. For that reason, if you’re interested in bringing Rudy into your family, we’d love to meet you in person to let you meet this little guy, and for us to ensure that he’s going to the best possible home - we hope you understand! If you have any more questions about Rudy Pudy, or would like to enquire about meeting him, please give us a message!! We’d be more than happy to send you more pictures of him, or any further information you might like. Thank you for reading this love letter to my wonderful dog. We hope someone loves him as much as we do.
