Description
🦜 EXPERIENCED UMBRELLA COCKATOO OWNER REQUIRED – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY 🦜
I am looking for a very special, loving and suitable home for my 37-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo.
This is an incredibly difficult decision for me, as he was my late father's beloved parrot. My dad had him for 30 years before he sadly passed away, and he has been part of our family for nearly 32 years. Finding him a new home is the last thing I want to do, but unfortunately, my circumstances mean I have no choice.
❤️ A little about him:
He is a friendly, funny and characterful bird who can be handled. He can be a little unsure or funny around people he doesn't know, but once he gets to know you and builds trust, he becomes your best friend.
Please be aware that he is a VERY noisy bird, particularly at night if you are still awake late. Umbrella cockatoos are naturally loud, and this is something that must be fully understood before considering taking him on.
🏡 The home he needs:
Ideally, he needs to live in a detached property or somewhere with suitable soundproofing, as his noise levels can be significant. I live in a terraced house, and it isn't fair on my neighbours to continue putting them through the noise.
A home visit will be required before he is rehomed, to ensure that the environment is safe and suitable for him.
He has been in our family for nearly 32 years and, during that time, has had no known health issues.
He does say hello very clearly and to much and says no every now and again. I have tried teaching him other words but he always says hello, he is stubborn on learning anything else.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE:
I am looking for an owner with PROVEN, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH UMBRELLA COCKATOOS OR SIMILAR LARGE PARROTS. This is not a bird for a first-time parrot owner.
I will be extremely careful about who he goes to. I need to know that he will be safe, loved, understood and properly cared for for the rest of his life. I will not let him go to just anybody, and I reserve the right to refuse any home that I don't feel is suitable.
PLEASE NOTE HE WAS BORN IN 1987 PET'S 4 homes Date OF Birth go back to 2006!
HE HAS NOT BEEN DNA Tested AND WE Presume HE IS A BOY.
This is not a decision I am making lightly. He is a connection to my dad, and the thought of parting with him is heartbreaking. However, his needs and finding him the right environment must come first.
🙏 SERIOUS ENQUIRIES ONLY, PLEASE.
If you have the experience, the right environment and the commitment to give this beautiful boy the home he deserves, please get in touch and tell me a little about yourself, your experience with cockatoos and the home you could offer him.
His next home needs to be his forever home. ❤️🦜
