It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we are looking for a very special new home for our beautiful Cassie. š¤
Cassie is our gorgeous 5-year-old Shih Tzu, and I have had her since she was a puppy. She has been a huge part of our family for her whole life, which makes this an incredibly difficult decision.
Over the years our family and lifestyle have changed considerably, and I have come to the difficult realisation that our busy family home is no longer the environment in which Cassie is happiest. With three children, including a very young child, and another dog, there is naturally a lot going on. Cassie can become anxious around our little one, and I genuinely feel she would thrive in a quieter, calmer home where she can receive much more individual attention.
Cassie is super, super friendly with people. She is a loving and affectionate little girl who enjoys being close to her humans and has so much love to give. š„°
Her perfect home would be with an individual or couple without young children. We would consider a home with calm, dog-respectful older child aged 10+, depending on the individual circumstances.
Cassie can be reactive towards other dogs when she is on the lead, so this is something her new owner would need to be comfortable managing and continuing to work on. An experienced, confident dog owner who understands that some dogs can find certain situations overwhelming would be wonderful for her.
This isnāt a decision that has been made overnight. Having had Cassie since she was a puppy, I know her incredibly well and love her dearly. Part of loving her is recognising that what our family can offer her now isnāt necessarily what will make her happiest for the next chapter of her life.
There is absolutely no rush to rehome her. Finding the right home is far more important to us than finding one quickly, and I will be very particular about where she goes.
Iād love to find someone who has plenty of time for Cassie, can offer her a calmer lifestyle and will absolutely adore her. Iād also love to keep in touch and receive the occasional update once she has settled into her new home š¤
Iām more than happy to talk openly about Cassieās personality, routine and needs with anyone genuinely interested.
She will only leave us when we find the home that feels completely right for her. š¾
