Description

Yumi is an incredibly sweet and gentle girl, born in March 2022. She has a calm presence and the softest expression—one of those dogs whose kindness you can see instantly. Peaceful, affectionate, and naturally trusting, Yumi has a way of putting people at ease from the very first moment. Yumi was rescued together with her brother Kenji from a kill shelter. Their future was painfully uncertain, but thanks to timely intervention, both were given a second chance at life. Today, Yumi is safe and living in a group of dogs, where she feels relaxed, confident, and completely at home. She is used to sharing space, gentle interactions, and moving comfortably within a small canine community. For adopters dreaming of welcoming two dogs, Yumi and Kenji make a truly beautiful pair. That said, this is absolutely not a requirement. They are not dependent on each other and both do wonderfully with other friendly dogs to—or would be just as happy soaking up all the love and attention as an only dog. 📏 Size: Yumi is a small-to-medium sized girl, with an estimated shoulder height of 38–40 cm. She can appear larger in some photos due to camera angles, but videos give a much more accurate impression. In reality, Yumi is compact, elegant, and very easy to live with. 🐾 A joyful little soul: In the video, you’ll see happy, happy, happy Yumi. The rare moments she gets to go outside, she enjoys them with her whole heart—sniffing every scent, rolling around in the grass, soaking it all in. She’s genuinely funny and brings a smile to your face without even trying. ⚖️ A little note At the moment, Yumi is carrying a bit of extra weight. Living 24/7 in a kennel sadly means very limited movement. Once she has regular walks, freedom, and normal daily exercise, she will quickly get back into shape—this is something that will resolve naturally in a home environment. 🐕 Appearance & possible mix: Yumi has a beautiful warm red–beige coat, a compact build, and a soft, expressive face. Her gently curled tail and charming ears give her an especially endearing look. Based on her appearance, she is thought to be a Welsh Corgi × Shiba Inu mix. Of course, this is an educated guess—but her size, colouring, tail carriage, and overall presence fit this combination perfectly. ✨ Personality: Yumi has a sweet, gentle, and wonderfully balanced temperament. She is kind with people, social with other dogs, and moves through her world with calm confidence. She enjoys human contact, welcomes soft affection, and radiates natural serenity. She is: Friendly and approachable Social and peaceful with other dogs Affectionate without being demanding Yumi doesn’t seek attention—she offers companionship, loyalty, and quiet warmth. 🌿 What kind of home does Yumi need?: Yumi would blossom in a calm, loving home where she is treated as a true family member. She is accustomed to living with other dogs and will adapt well to a new household with gentle, patient guidance. A secure garden would be lovely. Most important is a home where softness, routine, and emotional connection are valued. 💫 Meaning of her name: Yumi is a Japanese name meaning beauty, gentleness, and kindness—a perfect reflection of her nature and presence. 📌 Adoption information Adoption code: LEC.YUMI 💌 Interested? Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
