This is an incredibly difficult post to write, but we urgently need to find a new home for our Cockerpoo, Guto.
Guto is a lovely, clever dog in many ways — he is playful, affectionate on his terms, and has lots of personality. He enjoys walks, company, and being part of a routine. However, due to safety concerns, we can no longer keep him in our home.
We have a young toddler, and while Guto has never harmed a child, he does growl and can become aggressive, particularly around guarding items such as food, socks, or toys. If he takes something he shouldn’t have, he may growl, show his teeth, and react aggressively if it is taken away. He has bitten adults before (no broken skin), but this behaviour means we cannot safely risk keeping him around a small child.
We are constantly managing separation in a small bungalow, and despite trying everything available to us — including family, friends, and rescues — we are now desperate to find him a suitable home as soon as possible.
Guto would be best suited to:
• An adult-only home
• Someone experienced with dogs, particularly guarding behaviour
• A calm, structured environment with clear boundaries
• No children
This is not a decision taken lightly. We love Guto and want him to go to a home that understands his needs and can give him the time, space, and consistency he deserves.
