Quick Facts
Breed: Domestic short hair
Age: 8 months old (DOB 26 July 2025)
Male
Indoor currently, could adapt to indoor/outdoor
Reason for rehoming: energy mismatch with older resident cat
Vikki is a friendly, social young cat with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. He enjoys being close to his humans, often following them around the house, sitting beside them on the sofa, or curling up on their lap when he’s ready for a cuddle. He is also quite the conversationalist and will happily “chat” back when spoken to.
As a typical teenage cat, Vikki has plenty of energy and enjoys zooming around the house, exploring new spaces, and initiating play. Despite this, he is impressively well behaved indoors and does not climb kitchen counters, knock things over, or damage furniture. He uses his scratching post reliably and generally respects his environment. Vikki’s favourite activities involve simple toys like bits of yarn or small balls he can bat around like footballs.
Vikki is incredibly affectionate with adults and settles quickly once he has had a few minutes to greet someone new. However, he becomes stressed around young children due to their noise and unpredictable movements, and will retreat to a quiet room when they visit. For this reason, he would be happiest in an adult-only home or with calm older teenagers who understand his need for a peaceful environment.
He formerly lived with an older cat, but his strong desire to play has proven overwhelming for a quieter companion. While he shows no aggression, his energy level means he would likely do best either as the only cat in the home or with another young, playful cat who enjoys the same kind of interaction.
Vikki is also something of a foodie and may attempt to investigate unattended snacks, so keeping human food out of reach will be important!
