Description
This is Freya, she is a tri-colour border collie. We have had Freya since she was 5 months old.
Unfortunately, she came to us with a plethora of behavioural issues. However, with training and alot of love, she is a lovely dog(not without her challenges). She is a reactive dog that doesn't like people or dogs entering her bubble too quickly. Freya is a beautiful and lovely dog, however she does at times reacts badly to situations if she's scared, like dogs or people approaching her. With that said, she does get along with some dogs and currently lives with another border collie who she enjoys playing with and has a few friends down the dog park. I've had no issues with her being aggressive towards dogs, but she will tell them off if she doesn't want them in her space.
With the right handler, her behaviour is good, therefore she needs an owner who understands reactive dogs. Someone with no other dogs or cats in the home and no children.
I have recently had a baby boy and Freya no longer seems at home with us. She seems on edge/stressed and nervous around the baby. This is why I have decided to find another home for her, so she can get back to being her happy self. She would love an owner who likes long walks, someone who might do agility with her and definitely someone who doesn't mind kicking a tennis ball around for her.
Her parents were working stock, this means Freyas naturaly wants to herd animals. Nothing a tennis ball won't solve. She can do many tricks, weave in and out your legs, jump through hoops and has even been kayaking. She is very obedient, to the point where you can tell her to sit from 30 metres away and she will!
She's a fabulous dog, but not a dog for a home with children as they make her nervous. Freya has nipped hands before when she's felt scared, please keep this in mind when thinking about rehoming Freya.
She can be left at home alone with no issues whatsoever, she doesn't chew or have separation anxiety. Aslong as she has two 45 minute walks a day, she's happy to nap all day long on the sofa. She was also crate trained from young and has no issues travelling in cars. She has very good recall and can enjoy off lead walks, however will chase the tiny furries of you walk through any wooden areas.
She needs a caring owner, one who will never show her harsh hands! We believe she has a hard and abusive start in life.
