Daisy is one of those dogs.
She is a stunning 5-year-old Romanian shepherd rescue with the most wonderful scruffy face, soulful eyes and a presence that turns heads wherever she goes. But behind those beautiful looks is a dog who needs understanding, patience and an owner who truly appreciates how rewarding it can be to earn the trust of a sensitive rescue.
Daisy isn’t looking to be everyone’s best friend.
She’s looking for her people.
And once you’re in Daisy’s circle, you’ll have a fiercely loyal companion who will love you with her whole heart. ❤️

Daisy can find unfamiliar people and situations difficult and because of this she needs owners who understand dogs that need careful introductions and are happy to advocate for her.
She isn’t the type of dog who will happily greet every visitor or enjoy busy parks, cafés or bustling family life. Daisy is happiest living a quieter lifestyle with people who understand that not every dog wants the world to be their friend.
The reward is immense.
Once Daisy knows she’s safe and trusts you, she becomes affectionate, loyal, funny and incredibly devoted. She simply asks that new relationships happen on her terms and at her pace.
Because building trust is so important to Daisy, we would expect prospective adopters to meet her before adoption, and in many cases she may benefit from more than one meet and greet. We believe these extra visits help set both Daisy and her new family up for success and give everyone the best possible start together.
🏡 Daisy’s ideal home:
🌿 A quiet rural or semi-rural location
🌿 An experienced owner who understands guarding breeds
🌿 No young children, 14+ only
🌿 No cats
🌿 A large, secure garden where she can enjoy watching over her surroundings
🌿 Either as an only dog or potentially with a male dog following successful introductions
Daisy has previously lived with other dogs and walks happily alongside them.
She generally prefers to do her own thing rather than be the centre of attention, although every now and then she’ll decide another dog is worth playing with.
At five years old, Daisy has all the advantages of an adult dog. She’s house trained, settled in a home environment and past the chaos of puppyhood. What she needs now isn’t training from scratch—it’s the right person who understands her and can offer her the secure, predictable life she’s been waiting for.
Daisy won’t be the right dog for everyone, and that’s absolutely okay.
But for someone experienced with these types of dogs who appreciates loyalty over instant friendliness, she has so much to offer. She is a truly wonderful dog waiting for the right person to see her and accept her for who she really is.
