Description
Jordan was found on the streets of Curtea De Arges when he was just a young pup. Jordan came over to the UK kennels in August 2024 at 5 months old.
Jordan was initially very shut down when he arrived at the UK kennels and would not let staff close to him. He attempted to bite multiple times during this period when he was nervous, if you tried to move him or get him outside he would snap, he never made contact but we are aware he has a bite history from when he was in Romania and someone tried putting a harness on him. Jordan took a while to settle into the kennels and it took several weeks before he was able to be leaded. Eventually he could wear a harness but it took multiple attempts as he would try to bite. He now accepts a harness and a lead fine. Jordan has shared a kennel with multiple dogs while he’s been here, mainly females and hasn’t had any issues but he needs to be fed separately as he has shown food guarding around other dogs.
Jordan is good at being introduced to female dogs in the paddocks, he likes to play with them and is very gentle. He doesn't like other male dogs since his neuter and has had fights with male dogs he used to be friends with. He had a fight with a dog in the paddock and redirected onto a staff member during this, this is his only bite history at the kennels. Once he trusts you he is very lobing and affectionate and shows no signs of aggression.
Jordan needs a child and cat free home, but he could live with a female dog pending successful meets. Jordan is better having meets offsite in a secure paddock as his reactivity stems from the environment he is in.
Jordan has been out with Hayley one of our volunteers, he was nervous at first but did well and took treats off of her and is building his confidence with her each time.
He is reactive to people and other dogs at the kennels, however, he has been on multiple days out away from the kennels in and around Nantwich and has shown no reactivity at all to people or dogs. He is muzzle trained and travels nicely in the car. He is clean in his kennel, he does have the tendency to chew up anything with stuffing in. He doesn't show signs of any separation anxiety.
Jordan is very strong on the lead and does pull a lot so needs someone who is confident handling him and can work on his lead manners, he is very foody and loves using his nose on walks. He enjoys scent games and he settles well in his kennel. Jordan has only ever known kennel life and needs someone to give him a chance at a home. He did spend a day in a staff member's home and he was very well behaved and wasn't spooked by any of the household appliances.
