Description

Quick Facts - Age: 10 months (DOB: 12 December 2025) - Sex: Male - Personality: Affectionate, playful, curious and full of energy - Lifestyle: Currently indoor-only, with potential for outdoor access following careful introductions - Enrichment needs: Plenty of interactive play, climbing opportunities and suitable scratching surfaces Gizmo is a lovely, affectionate boy who enjoys being close to his people. He's the sort of cat who will come looking for cuddles, settle himself at the bottom of your bed or curl up on the couch in the living room. Once he's comfortable, he may burrow into your side, hop onto your lap or start making biscuits while enjoying some fuss. He's also happy to greet new people, although he prefers to do so on his own terms. He can be a little shy when someone first arrives, but usually comes around within 30–60 minutes once he's had a chance to work out that they're friendly. Gizmo has a playful, curious personality and enjoys having people around to keep him entertained. He's not particularly good at amusing himself for long periods, so interactive play is an important part of his daily routine. He's used to having several play sessions a day and loves spending time with someone who can keep up with his enthusiasm. He's also a wonderfully social little character who has experience around children and dogs. He previously lived with other cats as a kitten and may have potential to share his home with another young, playful cat following appropriate introductions. Gizmo is still a young cat with plenty of growing, learning and exploring ahead of him. He has a habit of scratching and damaging walls, which may be influenced by his current unneutered status. Neutering may help if the behaviour is hormone-related, although we can't guarantee it will resolve. He already has scratching posts and pads available and doesn't tend to target furniture, so providing plenty of suitable scratching options, vertical space and enrichment will be important in helping him develop good habits. He's a clever, active boy who needs a home that understands his energy and can give him the stimulation he needs. Play and Enrichment Gizmo loves interactive play, particularly with wand toys and little toy mice. He's also rather good at a game of ball, and will happily pass a ball back to you from his track toy! He's currently enjoying around three play sessions a day, lasting 5–15 minutes each. A home that can continue this routine, with opportunities for both physical exercise and mental stimulation, would suit him well. Climbing is another important part of Gizmo's world. He would benefit from a sturdy cat tree, shelves or other safe vertical spaces where he can explore and observe his surroundings. Providing stable scratching posts and different scratching surfaces will also be helpful. Wall-mounted scratch tiles could be worth trying as an alternative scratching surface, provided they're introduced as a suitable outlet rather than simply adding more opportunities to scratch the walls. Gizmo is a young cat with plenty of energy, and he'll thrive with someone who enjoys actively engaging with him. Ideal Home - A home where Gizmo will receive plenty of attention and interactive play every day. Someone who enjoys an active, playful cat and can provide regular opportunities for physical and mental stimulation. - A home with sturdy cat trees, climbing shelves and plenty of suitable scratching surfaces. Someone who is comfortable with a potentially vocal cat, including possible nighttime noise. - A home with children could suit him well, as he has experience around both younger children and teenagers. Potential to live with another young, playful cat following careful introductions. - A home with a dog could be possible, as Gizmo has previously enjoyed playing with a Border Collie. - An indoor home is suitable, with potential for outdoor access following careful introductions Adoption fee is sliding scale from £100 - £190 depending on postcode of adopter.
