Description

Daris – currently 9kgs Meet Daris, the gentlest little soul you could hope to meet! He's so pretty and sweet that his foster family keep calling him "her" by mistake, but he's very much a boy, and a very special one. Daris is an easy, gentle puppy whose favourite thing is a cuddle. He loves to fall asleep snuggled under your arm or curled round your neck. During the day he'll happily nap in any dog bed, and he settles well after a walk. At night he sleeps soundly. He flops down quickly, often on his back with his legs in the air, which shows how safe he's felt from his very first night. He enjoys a little play with toys and with his foster sister Lolly, but he's not over the top about it. He takes confidence from her on walks, and if she tells him off he squeals and runs to his foster mum for reassurance. He'd suit a loving home with gentle people. A calm canine friend would be lovely, but it isn't essential. Daris has been wonderful with three young grandchildren, soaking up their cuddles. He travels well in the car and has been enjoying long-line sniffy walks around the field. When he's unsure, he simply sits down and listens, which is very sweet. He isn't lead trained yet but follows the other dog's example, and that work is just beginning. He's nearly there with toilet training in the garden. He's learning to sit politely for his food, and his coat is incredibly soft. He hasn't been left alone yet because of fireworks season. He coped well with the fireworks and didn't shake, but he preferred to stay in the bedroom close to his foster mum. Daris is still a puppy, so he'll need the usual time and commitment, but being loved and cuddled is what he's all about. Whoever gets to call him theirs will be very lucky indeed. Daris came into foster on 2nd November His Story For many years, one of our volunteers in Brăila has been quietly helping a homeless lady who lives with mental health difficulties. She has a kind heart for animals and often gathers stray dogs around her, so our volunteer has made sure that both she and her dogs have food to eat. Recently, the lady moved into an empty house whose owner had passed away. With her came five tiny puppies, and Daris was one of them. Sadly, it wasn't long before she was evicted. The neighbours called the animal police, and we knew exactly what that could mean for the puppies: a kill shelter, where young pups like Daris would not get a second chance. We couldn't let that happen. We stepped in and brought all five puppies into our care as quickly as we could.
