Meet Dave – From Lost Soul to Loving Friend
Location: Ayr
Date of Birth: 2 Sept 2020 (though we think he may be a bit younger!)
Dave’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was picked up by dog catchers in Romania, absolutely traumatised and suffering from a severe skin condition that left him with bald patches. At first, we weren’t sure if his coat would ever grow back — but now he’s sporting the most wonderful fluffy fur, almost like a little afro! He’s not too keen on being brushed just yet, but with time and trust we know he’ll learn that pampering can be nice too. When Dave first came to us, he was frightened of everything. With patience and kindness, he’s begun to blossom.
With our General Manager, he’s transformed — bouncing around happily, chasing balls, and showing his playful, affectionate side. Around people he doesn’t know well he can still be nervous, but once he trusts you, he’s a delight. Dave’s Ideal Home Dave is looking for a quiet, patient home where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace.
He’ll need: A secure garden while he learns about the outside world • An adult-only household (or one with older children)
A family who understands he won’t be ready for walks right away but is willing to put in the time and love to help him grow
Companionship — he’s great with other dogs and could happily live with a canine friend
No cats please – Dave has not been cat tested
Dave has shown he can be handled well at the vets, and with 1:1 love and reassurance, we know he’ll continue to thrive. He’s affectionate, playful, and has so much potential — he just needs that special someone who can see past his shy beginnings and help him shine
