Description

Hello, Thankyou for taking a look at our lovely ducks, i will write a little bit about them below. Due to a divorce and house sale at my in-law’s we are having to rehome the ducks where they currently live, which is an extremely hard decision we have had to make. For re-homing we have 4 x White lovely Pekin ducks. 3 Females in total and 1 Male. 3 x females (called the twins and Queenie) - and 1 x Male called Sunnie. Sunnie and the twins are 6 years old and Queenie is 4 years old. (DOB on ad is random as it wouldn't let me submit to next step without it) They all live together in the same area with 2 ponds and grass area and shade, with free roaming of a around 1 acre of field (see pics), but sleep separately in the big coop across the field in the evening. We keep them separated in the coop as we got them at different times and that is how they have been ever since, they mingle together on the field all day long. Unfortunately, we have just lost Queenie’s best friend Freddie (3 days ago) and she is now really lonely as the others aren’t letting her join in and is sleeping alone. Sunnie and Queenie were born and raised by Myself and my husband from an egg "the twins as we call them" were rescued/taken on from someone 2 years ago as mates for Sunnie. Important: Sunnie has a limp which he was born with. He needed assistance coming out of the egg which we helped with. As he got older he grew up he struggled with his leg, and was prescribed Metcam for animals by a poultry vet a while ago, but in recent years he has not shown any pain or struggling so he no longer needs it. He doesn't struggle at all, he can just be a bit slow but is the chattiest little duck and takes care of his girls. One of the girls who lives with Sunnie, has impartial sight in one of her eyes, she had when she came to us upon rescuing and causes her no problems. They all have a diet of duck and goose pellets, that they have access to all the time and they get fed a mixture of peas, sweetcorn in the evenings for their dinner when we put them in their houses every night. Some of them are laying eggs at the moment. Although the move to another home may upset them a bit, so may not lay any eggs for a little while after. They are all healthy and very happy little ducks, and we will be very sad to see them go, as they have been a big part of our daily life for long time! As they have been used to a very large space and ponds, we ask that this is something that they are able to be offered in their potential new home, with a nice dry area to sleep in at nighttime. We would also like to see where they would be living (indoor and outdoor spaces) as peace of mind for us. Please only enquire if you are a duck enthusiast and want to offer as much love to them as we have. Thankyou. x
