Description
Diesel is back with us through no fault of his own. He was adopted by a caring young family who truly loved him, but they realised that Diesel needs a calmer, more experienced home where he can continue his training and feel secure. His family were heartbroken to return him, and Diesel himself is feeling a little lost - he adored them and is trying to understand why he's no longer with them.
We’ve promised him that the right person will come for him.
About Diesel
Diesel is a handsome young Labrador Retriever + Mudi cross (likely with other breeds mixed in). He weighs around 16kg and may still have a little growing left to do. He is microchipped and fully vaccinated. We’ve had him neutered, too.
He is playful, affectionate, clever and eager to bond. Once comfortable, he becomes a joyful, loving companion with a lot to give. He is intelligent and learns quickly.
What He Needs
Like many young dogs, Diesel is still finding his confidence. In his previous home, he became reactive around some dogs and unfamiliar people, especially inside the house. This included barking and lunging when anxious or unsure. His adopters described him perfectly:
“He’s a lovely, clever dog with a lot of potential… He needs a calm, experienced owner who understands how to work with this kind of behaviour and give him the structure and consistency he needs.”
With stability, training and the right guidance, Diesel has every chance to blossom. He’s already made progress with us, and we are continuing his socialisation.
The Ideal Home for Diesel
Diesel will thrive with someone who can offer:
- A quiet, structured, confident home
- No young children (he needs a calm environment)
- A secure garden
- Experience with reactive or sensitive dogs (or willingness to learn and follow guidance)
- Patience, time and consistency
- Positive-based training and routine
- Understanding that Diesel needs space when unsure — but becomes incredibly loving once he trusts you
His previous family also said:
“He’s affectionate and playful once he’s comfortable. We just want him to have the best chance in a home that’s suited to him.”
In Return, Diesel Offers…
- Deep affection
- Intelligence and willingness to learn
- Playfulness and personality
- A strong bond with “his person”
- A dog who genuinely wants to be good - he just needs guidance
About Adopting from Friends InDeed
Friends InDeed is a registered charity. A home-check (sometimes online) is mandatory.
We do not supply dogs to non-genuine dog-loving people.
You must have your own garden, and no children under 10 years old.
We do not place dogs as service/assistance dogs. Diesel is to be a beloved pet only.
We also ask adopters to stay in touch — we always support our families, and we reply fastest by phone or WhatsApp. Video-chat is available so you can meet Diesel “live” before visiting.
We are a 100% genuine and transparent rescue. We put huge effort into saving lives, neutering strays and finding them proper homes. We reserve the right to ask for different donations depending on circumstances.
Please - No Timewasters
We receive many unnecessary enquiries and cannot waste time. Serious, loving adopters only.
