Description
Kobi is a 9 year old large sized male dog. Kobi came over to the UK in 2020 but surrendered after just a few weeks due to the owner not being able to handle his traffic reactivity. Kobi has spent almost his entire life in kennels, never knowing the love of an owner, other than the staff at OSH.
Kobi then moved into emergency boarding before coming to the UK kennels OSH in September 2021 where he has resided ever since.
Kobi is very friendly boy with the staff once he trusts you, he gives the best cuddles and will even try and sit on your lap, even though he is a big boy. He can be reactive to strangers at first but it doesn't take him long to settle with someone, especially if they have treats. Kobi has food guarding tendencies and cannot be touched while he's eating at all otherwise he will bite. The kennel staff have learnt to respect this boundary of his and so have no issues with him and his guarding.
Kobi struggles with reactivity to traffic, dogs and strangers, he is having training on this and is making some improvement but will need to continue this in a home. Kobi is very strong on the lead especially when he is reacting and will need an owner that is confident handling him.
Kobi enjoys his walks and is able to go for long periods, he likes being outside and sunbathing so would like a home with a nice outdoor space that he can relax in. He loves a big comfy bed and soft toys, he doesn't show any destructive behaviours and is clean in his kennel.
He shows no signs of separation anxiety and his happy being left for long periods. He loves his food and will work for treats, he is currently on yumove as he struggles with his joints. We are seeking a vets opinion on whether he needs medication for this. He has a high prey drive and will pull towards something if he sees it. Kobi really enjoys male company although he is happy with females as well.
Kobi is looking for an adult and pet free home where he can spend his retirement having cuddles and sunbathing.
