Description
Unique is one of 33 Brittanys who were kept together on a piece of land and used for hunting and showing. When the land was put up for sale and the dogs needed to be moved on, one of the shelters we work with stepped in to get as many of them out as possible before they ended up in the hands of other hunters. Initially, TSPP with a couple of other rescues were able to help 17 of the dogs, but sadly, the hunter wouldn’t give us the other dogs at the time. A little further down the line, we were asked to help another eight of the Brittanys. We quickly agreed knowing we didn’t want to risk losing the chance to help them again. Sadly, that number dropped to seven and then in the end was just four. Thankfully, those four have now made it to the shelter and have the chance of a much better life, just like they have always deserved.
Unique has a sweet and affectionate temperament and loves being with people, even though it’s clear she hasn’t had much human contact. She is sociable with other dogs and currently shares a kennel with another Brittany. They get along very well, sharing their space and food without any issues.
Unique is an active girl and, when she’s let out into the outside area at the shelter, loves to run around and spend time sniffing the entire area! She would do best in a quieter home without young children, and a friendly resident dog to help her gain confidence! She can be cat tested if needed.
