Description

Pippin is a wonderful little man who is looking for a very special home where he can continue to build confidence, trust and a beautiful bond with his people. 🐶❤️ Date of Birth: 14/05/2018 He is a fun, loving, affectionate and fantastic dog who has so much to offer the right family. Once Pippin trusts you, he is brilliant! He loves spending time with the people he knows and has shown just how loving he can be with his family and friends. However, Pippin does have some complex needs, and finding the right home for him is very important. We want to be honest about what he needs so that we can find a family who truly understands him and can help him the best way possible. Pippin is looking for: ❤️ A patient, understanding home with people who have experience with dogs body language. ❤️ Someone who will take the time to build a relationship with him and earn his trust. ❤️ A family who understands that new people and unfamiliar situations can be frightening for him. ❤️ People who are willing to continue working on his confidence ❤️ A home where his boundaries and communication are respected. Pippin can be protective of high value items and may bark at unfamiliar dogs while out on walks. He is not likely to accept a new dog immediately, although he has successfully built relationships with the dogs he currently knows following careful introductions and ongoing work. He can also bark at noises outside, including sounds from the neighbourhood. When Pippin feels uncomfortable, he may show subtle signs such as lip licking, whale eye, turning away or tensing his body. If these signals are missed or ignored, his fear can escalate, and he may resort to nipping. Understanding and respecting his body language is incredibly important. The good news is that Pippin is making progress. Nipping is no longer his first choice, and with the right support, patience and understanding, he can continue to build confidence and learn that he is safe. ❤️ Despite his challenges, Pippin is a joyful, loving little dog who enjoys life and has a wonderfully playful personality. He has formed lovely bonds with people of different ages, including children, and has shown that he can be incredibly affectionate when he feels comfortable. Pippin is not a dog who needs to be changed into something he is not. He simply needs the right people who understand him, respect his boundaries and are willing to help him feel safe. He is not going to be the right match for every home, but for someone who understands dogs and is prepared to continue his training, Pippin could be an incredibly rewarding companion. We know the right home may take time to find, but Pippin deserves that chance. He is a fantastic little dog with so much love to give. ❤️ Could you be the understanding home Pippin has been waiting for?
