If interested in adopting please complete our adoption form. https://dogsnhomes.org.uk/apply. We won't answer questions without a form. Nelly is a small, eight-month-old Cockapoo puppy who loves meeting new people and making friends with other dogs. She weighs just 6.4 kg and we expect her to weigh no more than around 10 kg when fully grown. She’s come into our care through no fault of her own and is looking for a home that will enjoy the lively, playful nature of a young Cockapoo puppy. What is Nelly like with other dogs? When Nelly meets a new dog, she’s gentle and tends to let them take the lead. Once she’s made a friend, she’s usually ready to play. Nelly joined her first family at eight weeks old as a companion for their 11-year-old Cockapoo, who was blind in one eye. Her older ‘sister’ was happy to play now and then, but Nelly was usually ready for another round when her companion had had enough. Since coming into our care, she’s loved spending time with younger dogs who are just as keen to join in. We think Nelly would be happiest with another friendly, playful dog in her new home. She also travels well in the car and took the recent fireworks largely in her stride. The home we’re looking for We’re looking for a home where Nelly will have plenty of company, attention and time to play. A resident dog who enjoys playing with a young dog would give her the kind of companionship she’s been enjoying in our care. Nelly needs a home without young children or cats. She has never lived with young children and hasn’t met cats, so we don’t know how she would get on with them. Nelly’s health and grooming Nelly is a fit and healthy puppy. We’re told she sheds very little, and she’s been described to us as hypoallergenic. If anyone in your household has a dog allergy, please let us know so we can arrange for them to meet Nelly before you decide whether to adopt. She’ll need regular visits to the groomer to keep her coat in good condition. Nelly the Cockapoo puppy hasn’t been spayed and hasn’t had her first season - she's too young to be neutered at the current time. Her adopter will need to arrange for her to be spayed at an appropriate time, in consultation with their vet.
