We have made the very difficult decision that our beautiful ragdoll cat Suki needs to look for a new home. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old and she is now approx 15 months. She has been regularly wormed and flea treated as a preventative measure as she is an indoor only cat and she has also been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. As she is a ragdoll she is a large slow maturing breed of cat and will continue to grow for the next few years. She has a beautiful long coat that will require regular grooming and she's fed a high quality diet so these factors will need to be taken into account by anyone interested in rehoming her.
About Suki: She is a playful and friendly cat but is also independent and likes her own space at times. She will happily be in the same room as you, checking out what you are up to but she's not a cuddly lap cat or at least she hasn't been with us. She does the typical ragdoll thing of going floppy when you pick her up and cradle her but she will only stay that way for a few minutes before wanting to get down. She is very good with using her litter boxes and scratching posts. She does tolerate being groomed but will need bribing with treats to brush her chest and tummy. She likes to sleep but she also needs regular high energy play as she's still young. She loves chasing balls or streamers and enjoys jumping and climbing on her cat tower.
Suki is currently the only cat in the home and she would be absolutely fine with this and it's probably for the best as long as someone is around a lot of the time to keep her company. She definitely does not like dogs and this is the main reason she is looking for a new home. She absolutely hates our pug and now she's about the same size as her, has started to bully her relentlessly. It's reached the point where they cannot be left unsupervised together even for a moment as Suki immediately starts chasing and wrestling with her. Sometimes it starts off as play but very soon it gets too rough and she overpowers the dog who is becoming quite scared of her. We have tried various different things to try and help them get along including feliway diffusers, vet checks and advice and dog training classes but it's just not working out, neither pet is happy and it's exhausting being constantly on watch. I've been hoping it's something Suki will grow out of but as time goes on, I realise I'm just risking one of my pets getting injured and more behavioural problems down the line.
We would love it if someone familiar with ragdolls was interested in her because of her rehoming requirements. We are asking £500 as Suki will come with everything she needs...a large selection of toys, two big cat towers, two litter trays, bowls, a feeding mat, any food we have left over, any remaining flea and worming treatment, a selection of brushes plus a cat basket and blankets.
We love Suki so much and just want her to have a home where she will be happy and doted on.
