Description

Day-old Celadon quail chicks are ready for collection. Only 9 left! Hatched here at Waun Corgam Fach Farm from our own Celadon breeding flock. The hens will grow up to lay beautiful blue eggs, just like the ones they hatched from. The chicks are unsexed and will need a warm brooder ready at home. What makes them Celadon? Celadon is the name for the inherited trait that gives these quail their blue eggshells. A hen needs a copy of the blue-egg gene from both mum and dad to lay blue eggs herself. In our Celadon-to-Celadon flock, every chick inherits two copies. That means the girls will lay blue eggs when they mature, and the boys will pass the gene to every chick they father. £5 each · 3 for £14 · 5 for £22
