Description
It is with a VERY heavy heart that we are looking for a new home for our beautiful 10-week-old puppy. We brought him into our family with the absolute best of intentions and we love him dearly, but we have come to the difficult realisation that our current home environment isn't the right fit for him or our young child.
Our Situation:
Our puppy is a typical, happy, and incredibly playful boy. However, like all puppies his age, he is currently going through a heavy teething and nipping phase. Because we have a very young toddler, this "puppy play" has caused our little one to become quite frightened.
We feel our toddler’s quality of life has been impacted, as he no longer feels confident playing freely in his own home. While we know this nipping is just a temporary age-related behaviour and not aggression, it has become clear that we really should have waited until our child was older before adding a puppy to the mix.
Mum- red fox lab
Dad- red fox cocker spaniel
About Him:
Name- Simba
Colour- beautiful golden/red
• Age: 10 weeks old (Born 13th Dec 2025)
• Temperament: Highly affectionate, playful, and energetic.
• Health: He’s been health checked and registered with ‘Vets4Pets’ (pets at home vets) he’s completely healthy and no health concerns at all. He’s had his first vaccination but will need his second vaccination in 4 weeks time. It’s been booked for the 18th March. He’s had worming treatment and due his next worming treatment on the 4th March (we have the tablet to give you). He has been microchipped and We have his microchip card so you can add your details onto it.
• Progress: He is doing great with puppy pad training, he does have the occasional accident but that’s to be expected as he’s still so young. He knows how to sit already too. He LOVES his food! He’s a very hungry boy and very food motivated but that comes from the breed he is :)
What he needs:
He is a lovely, sweet dog who deserves a home where he can be a ‘land shark’ puppy without causing stress to a small child. He would thrive in a home with older children (6+) or an adults-only household where someone has the time to continue his training and help him/be patient through the teething stage.
He will come with food, toys, treats, crate, bed, puppy pads, salmon oil for his food which is very good for them, also something that smells like his current home for comfort. and much more
This proves that we have really tried to be the best parents to him, we’re just so sad that it hasn’t worked out for us. You can also see pictured that he has been so well kept and you can see his name is Simba on his tag which ideally it would be good if his name was kept as that because he knows his name now and is very used to it.
We’d like someone who has a suitable house with a garden (no flats please!) We would love to hear a little bit about your lifestyle, your experience with dogs, and the kind of environment he would be joining to make sure it’s a perfect match for his energetic personality. We don’t want someone else to make the same mistake we done by rushing into it and not taking into account everything. This lovely baby boy deserves so much more than that!
He also thrives on company right now and wouldn’t want him to be left alone for long periods of time constantly. We’d like someone to be able to be around for most of the day.
Please note - He has never shown aggression. His nipping is 100% typical puppy teething/play, but it is too much for our very young toddler. He needs an owner who understands how to redirect this normal puppy behaviour.
