Description
Jake is a 5 year old medium sized dog.
Jake moved to his adoptive home in August 2020 as a young pup during covid. He was later surrendered just 10 months after being in the home. Jake was surrendered due to becoming very stressed and having fear anxiety. This resulted in him redirecting and biting the adopters partner on the leg when out on a walk. Jake had also bit the adopters daughter when she was sat next to an adult. It was thought this was due to jealousy.
Jake then moved to a foster home where he lived with other dogs. Jake had a fight with one of the male dogs but the fosterer was working on slow re-introductions. He then one day bit the other female dog. His owners at the time then decided to surrender him.
He was then moved to the UK kennels OSH.
Jake is a very stressed and anxious boy. He does not like traffic, seeing new people or some dogs. When he is reacting he spins and will redirect onto his handler. Jake has started having walks with a Muzzle Movement muzzle and he responds a lot better to this and there is not risk of it coming off, which gives the handler more peace of mind when walking him. With the introduction of this new muzzle he has been able to have more frequent walks up the road with the traffic in which his reactivity to traffic has improved majorly, his reactivity to dogs has gotten much better as well. with lots of treats and praise he is making great improvements with his training.
Jake would prefer a child free home with no cats or small furries, he has a very high prey drive, however, he could live with other dogs pending successful meets. He would need a home in a quiet location with minimal visitors as he is easily stressed. His reactivity is a lot better when he's not on lead.
Jake shared a kennel with another dog Jiji until she found a home, he is now residing by himself but is missing the companionship of another dog, we believe he would prefer a home with a calm but playful female dog. Jake ad Jiji got on well together and liked to play.
Jake is a very affectionate boy who loves to play and cuddle he is just very anxious of the outside world. He is much happier when he’s inside away from triggers.
Jake is clean in his kennel, he is a lovely boy who needs someone to show him the world isn’t such a scary place.
