There’s something rather special about Jamie. 💛
Jamie is a gorgeous 1-year-old Segugio hound who is currently thriving in foster in the Lincolnshire. He is a gentle, affectionate and sensitive boy who has come such a long way — and, most importantly, we are now seeing the lovely dog he is today.
Jamie had a difficult start in life, but that is becoming just a small part of his story. Today, he is a happy young hound who loves other dogs, enjoys exploring and is steadily gaining confidence in the world around him.
🐾 Jamie at Home
Jamie is proving to be a wonderfully easy boy to have around the house.
🏡 Fully house trained — he has never had an accident in his foster home.
🧸 He has only chewed his own toys and hasn’t been destructive.
🐕 He can be left for a few hours with the resident dogs and settles happily.
🌙 He sleeps peacefully through the night on his own bed.
❤️ He enjoys the company of his foster family and the other dogs and is becoming increasingly comfortable in everyday family life.
He is also fantastic with other dogs. When meeting dogs on walks, he gets along with them straight away and clearly enjoys having canine friends around him.
🌿 Out and About
Jamie is a lovely combination of playful, gentle and sensitive.
He enjoys running, playing and exploring, and his confidence is growing all the time. His recent trip to the beach café showed just how much progress he is making.
Despite being somewhere busy and unfamiliar, Jamie behaved beautifully. He sat calmly, enjoyed a baked dog bone, had a pup ice cream and even approached a young girl who wanted to give him a treat — taking it gently straight from her hand. ❤️
He travelled calmly in the car for an hour each way too.
There are still a few things that make Jamie nervous. He can bark at some people when out walking and isn’t yet comfortable around vans and lorries, although he is generally fine with cars now.
He is also perfectly comfortable with normal household noises, but things such as bin collection day or workmen at neighbouring properties can still worry him.
But this is a boy who is learning — and learning beautifully.
With patience, reassurance and positive experiences, his confidence continues to grow.
💛 The Boy Behind Those Beautiful Eyes
Jamie is gentle, affectionate, sensitive and incredibly sweet.
He doesn’t need an experienced dog trainer or someone looking for a project. He simply needs a family who understands that, like many sensitive dogs, some things take a little longer to feel comfortable with.

He currently weighs 17kg and is expected to gain another couple of kilos as he reaches adulthood, making him a lovely medium-sized hound.

Jamie is fully vaccinated, neutered, healthy and growing beautifully.
He has already shown his foster family that he can be house trained, settle overnight, be left for a few hours, travel calmly in the car and happily socialise with other dogs.
Now he needs someone to take the next step with him.
Someone who will see past the things that still make him nervous and see the beautiful, loving dog standing in front of them.
Jamie is ready to be someone’s companion, someone’s walking buddy and, most importantly, someone’s very special boy. ❤️🐾
