This is going to be a long post so I do apologise but this is Elvis a Romanian rescue who arrived in the uk with us on 14th Feb 2026. He was 6/7 months when he arrived. It took him a while to come out of his shell and once he trusts you he is the most loving loyal dog you could wish for. He is very protective of the home which in one way is great, on the other not so much when we have guests. He gets very reactive when we have people in our home and has lunged a few times people. When he is outside away from the house he is a totally different dog! He loves other dogs and can live with cats as well. Ideally he needs to be in a home where there is another dog for him to run around with and no children under 12. He would make a great dog for a farm or somewhere where there is plenty of outside running space. He is nervous around crowds/noise and traffic and needs the patience to overcome them. Unfortunately we’ve not yet been able to do those things as we are struggling with 2 children with possible diagnosis’s and we have a lot of hospital appointments coming up which means he’s often left alone for long periods which isn’t what we want for him. He isn’t food aggressive, he is toilet trained however he is a chewer no matter how many bones and toys we get him he will chew whatever he can get his paws on to! He loves treats and cuddles and kisses. He sleeps shut in a crate on a night and also uses it throughout the day (not locked in) I really would love for him to go to someone who has the time and patience to train him up and is able to take him on those long walks he really deserves. Ideally he would be better suited to a female or a couple without children. He is still jumpy with noises. We would be wanting to do a few weekend trials for him to get to meet you outside of his current home and to be updated for a few weeks to see how he’s settling in as my anxiety won’t cope not knowing. He also hasn’t yet been neutered as the charity we rescued him from didn’t have time to do it. He will come with everything we have for him which is his crate, blankets, bowls, food, toys, toy basket, leads, and his pet passport.
