Meet Peggy – a gentle soul ready for her forever home 🤍
Sweet Peggy is around one year old and is only now getting the chance to be a puppy and enjoy life. She was found living on a chain that had cruelly cut into her neck, but thanks to a kind neighbour who contacted rescue, Peggy is safe and healing—both physically and emotionally.
When Peggy first arrived, she quietly curled up in a corner of the kitchen, barely moving for the first couple of days. It may well have been the first soft bed she’d ever known. On day three, she bravely ventured into the living room, and from that moment on she has blossomed more each day.
Peggy is a beautifully behaved young lady with the most loving, gentle nature. She is clean in the house, doesn’t seem to shed much, and has not barked once. She enjoys her food enormously (expect joyful post-meal zoomies!) and balances her calm, affectionate temperament with playful moments. She adores her toys—though squeaky ones still surprise her a little.
Like many young dogs, Peggy explores the world with her mouth. She hasn’t caused any damage, but she will happily nibble fingers, toes, and elbows if given the chance. She’s clever, eager, and absolutely the right age to benefit from kind, reward-based training.
After a week in foster, Peggy went on her very first walk and is now walking nicely on a lead, growing more confident and excited with every outing. She recently celebrated two weeks in the UK with a trip to the groomers—where the once-grey fur revealed itself to be beautifully white and fluffy. She needed a little encouragement to hop into the van (chicken treats helped!), but she was calm and compliant throughout.
Peggy is friendly and curious with all visitors and is a joy to have in the home. She has not been cat tested.
Peggy stands approximately 24 inches (62 cm) to the shoulder and has a heart even bigger than she is. Peggy’s estimated Dob is October 2022 but it is thought she is younger.
This special girl has endured more than any young dog should, yet she remains gentle, trusting, and full of love. Peggy is now ready for a forever home where she will be cherished, protected, and shown just how wonderful life can be.
Could you be the one to give Peggy the happy ending she so deeply deserves? 🐾💞
