Hello, please meet my two chinchillas, Luca (white) and Jax (black). Unfortunately I am looking for a new home for them. Due to a change in employment I can no longer offer them the time and human interaction that they deserve.
I am looking for new owners who have previous/current experience in owning chinchillas. They are extremely sensitive animals, they require a calm and relaxed environment, they require daily exercise, a particular diet and specific care.
Experienced owners will know that these aren't animals that liked to be cuddled/held. In fact you're lucky if they will you stroke them, they are not a good pet for children. Luckily I have built a good bond with these two, Luca is extremely confident and curious and loves scratches. However Jax is very nervous, it has taken me a while for him to allow me to stroke him.
These two are brothers and were originally housed together, unfortunately over a period of time it became apparent that Luca was bullying Jax, chasing him around the cage and pulling his fur out, so I took the decision to separate them, luckily the cage that they live in separates into two. The intention was to re-bond them to see if they could live together again but unfortunately this bonding process can be a very lengthy process and I don't have the time to do this with them.
The boys will come with their cage, all cage accessories, toys, playtime apparatus and any food/bedding/hay that i have remaining at the time of sale.
Please note that the price is more of a reflection of the cage and all accessories that they will come with.
It is also worth mentioning that chinchillas can live up to 20 years so I am looking for someone who can offer them their forever home and for someone to love them as much as we do.
This really is a heartbreaking sale and I won't let them go to just anyone, please be prepared for lots of questions from me 😊.
