Training Note: House trained but recall has been an ongoing struggle therefore either a family who knows how to train recall well or he needs to remain on lead and have a properly fenced and safe garden. He would benefit from wearing. a tracker when outdoors as belt and braces.
About Pedro 🌟
Pedro is a gorgeous, 2-year-old Andalusian Terrier cross who originally made the journey from Spain thanks to his dedicated rescuer. He is currently looking for a new forever home because his elderly owners (in their 70s) are finding his young, vibrant energy a bit too much to manage.
Pedro is the definition of a "Velcro dog." He is incredibly affectionate, fiercely loyal, and wants nothing more than to be right by your side. If you sit down, expect Pedro to curl up right next to you (or on you!) for a long cuddle session. He has a heart of gold and is good with children.
His Perfect Match 🏡
Because Pedro has strong Bodeguero roots (traditionally bred for hunting ratons/mice in Spanish wine cellars), he has an incredibly high prey drive. This means his recall is non-existent with scent outside. If he smells a rabbit or a squirrel, his ears turn off and his hound brain takes over!
Pedro's ideal family will have:
* An active lifestyle with people who love long walks, hikes, or jogging.
* A securely fenced garden (with high fences) where he can safely burn off his energy.
* The understanding that he must remain on a lead during open-area walks.
* A home without cats or small furry pets.
Pedro is a truly spectacular young dog who just needs a family capable of keeping up with his physical needs. In return, he will give you a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.
The adoption process involves an application completion, deposit to reserve, a virtual home check and two first meetings before adoption is agreed.
His family are so distressed about rehoming him but feel a young active family would be much better for him long term.
He is neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his worming and flea and tick treatments.
