Description
Ira is sweet, loving and ready to be part of family. She is currently in foster in the UK in Essex.
Ira is a Crossbreed, DOB 1/6/25.
This is what her foster mum says about Ira:
She is an affectionate, playful young dog.
She does have a tendency to jump up which we are working on with some progress, but this still needs work.
She is very food driven so training is made easier. She knows sit and come and is getting better at down.
She is crate trained and sleeps in the crate all night until we come down in the morning.
No food aggression displayed and she will let you take things from her without any aggression shown.
She is starting to learn fetch and loves to chase a ball, especially squeaky ones!
Her recall needs work, she sniffs a lot and tends to go deaf if there is a nice smell. She walks really nicely on the lead and no reactivity issues displayed when walking past other dogs or people.
She has played with other dogs off lead and likes every dog she has met so far.
She does get a little over excited at times and needs to learn manners, she tends to be a bit more dominant if it is a dog smaller than her.
She hasn't been cat tested and we haven't let her near our young family members. Because she jumps we feel she needs to go to a home with older children. Ideally Ira would suit an adult only home while she learns manners.
She is nearly toilet trained, mostly knowing to go to the door to go out to the toilet. We still keep an eye on her and remind her to go outside at regular intervals.
She is wary of strangers, but if you have food she does comes round. It does take her a little while to trust people.
She will need an active home willing to continue her training.
She has no known health issues.
We feel Ira will benefit from a home with other dogs.
Ira is vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, has her own passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.
