It absolutely breaks our hearts to write this, but sadly we have made the very difficult decision that we need to find Kilo a new, loving home.
Kilo is such a loving, caring boy who deserves someone who can give him the time, attention and exercise that he needs. He is fully toilet trained and is a very affectionate dog who loves being around his family. He is also extremely playful and energetic — he has a lot of love and energy to give! ❤️
Unfortunately, this is also what we are struggling with. We live in a small home and, with our family commitments, we simply don’t have the time or space to give Kilo the life he deserves. We feel it is becoming unfair on him, and this decision has not been made lightly.
Kilo was sadly attacked by another dog when he was a puppy, and since then he has been very wary and nervous around other dogs. Because he is very strong and pulls on the lead, at the moment he can only be walked by my partner, who is able to handle him properly. He would therefore need someone who is confident and experienced with strong, energetic dogs and understands that he may need patience and training around other dogs.
Kilo does live with our Frenchie and they absolutely adore each other ❤️, so we know he can form lovely bonds with other dogs in the right circumstances. His reaction to unfamiliar dogs seems to come from his previous experience rather than him simply not liking dogs.
We feel Kilo would be best suited to someone who:
🐾 Has experience with strong/high-energy dogs
🐾 Has plenty of time to dedicate to him
🐾 Is confident handling him on walks
🐾 Is willing to work patiently on his behaviour around other dogs
🐾 Can give him plenty of exercise, attention and stimulation
🐾 Understands that he needs someone committed to him long-term
This is absolutely NOT about getting rid of him because we don’t love him. We love him so much, which is why we have to put his needs before our own. 💔
