Description

💛 STEFAN 💛 A beautiful Dachshund boy with a loving heart, looking for a family to call his own 🐾🏡 Some dogs come into rescue after a lifetime of hardship. Others arrive because the lives of the people who love them have changed, and a difficult decision has to be made. STEFAN is one of those dogs. He has been reluctantly entrusted to us by his family, and we would love to help him find a home where his affectionate nature and lovely manners will be appreciated every single day. ❤️ 🐶 Name: STEFAN 💙 Sex: Male 🎂 Date of birth: 9 June 2023 🐕 Breed: Smooth-haired Dachshund - originally purchased from a reputable breeder, but no pedigree paperwork is available. 🩺 Health: STEFAN is a very healthy boy ; no back or any other issues whatsoever. ✂️ Neutered: Not yet - adoption is subject to a commitment to have him neutered. We will refund £200 from his adoption fee once this has been completed. 🌷 STEFAN’S STORY Stefan’s young owner has moved to London to attend university. Her parents work full time and already have two other large dogs at home. With these changes, the family felt they could no longer manage the practical arrangements needed to keep Stefan safely and give him the care and attention he deserves. Giving him up was a reluctant decision. He has not come to us because of difficult behaviour; his family’s circumstances have changed, and they have asked us to help find the right future for him. We know that leaving a familiar home can be a big adjustment, even for a sociable, well-behaved dog. Our wish is to make Stefan’s next move a lasting one: to a family who have thought carefully about welcoming him and who will give him time, affection and a secure place in their lives. 🏡💛 💞 A LOVELY TEMPERAMENT Stefan has been described to us in the warmest possible terms: a very well-behaved, healthy and affectionate boy who is good with people, children and other dogs. And we have seen these with our own eyes. That is a wonderful starting point for a new family. He already has experience of family life and sharing his home with dogs, and there is so much to appreciate about a companion who enjoys both human affection and canine company. We could call him “the best possible dog,” because that is how highly he is thought of! But what matters most is finding the people who will recognise his lovely qualities and love him for the individual he is. ❤️ He is still a young adult, with many years of companionship ahead of him. We hope those years will be filled with ordinary, happy things: walks with his people, opportunities to sniff and explore, a comfortable bed, gentle attention and the reassurance of belonging. We hope his future family will see beyond his handsome looks and understand that they are welcoming a companion with feelings, familiar attachments and a whole life ahead of him. 🐕 OTHER DOGS Stefan is very well behaved with other dogs and has lived in a household with two larger dogs. We would be happy to consider a home with a suitable resident dog, taking into account both dogs’ temperaments and the practical arrangements in the home. Friendly dogs still need thoughtful introductions and space to become comfortable with one another. A home where he would be the only dog could also be considered, provided his people have the time to give him companionship, attention and a fulfilling daily routine. 🐾 👨‍👩‍👧 PEOPLE AND CHILDREN Stefan is affectionate and good with people, including children. In keeping with Friends InDeed Dog Rescue’s rehoming policy, we do not place dogs in homes with children under 10. Families with kind, dog-aware children aged 10 or over are welcome to enquire. We want everyone in his new household to understand the importance of gentle handling, respecting his resting space and allowing him to approach for affection in his own time. 💛 🐈 CATS We do not currently have confirmed information about Stefan’s behaviour around cats. Please discuss this with us if you have a cat, so we can consider your circumstances properly. 🏡 THE HOME WE HOPE TO FIND Stefan needs people who want a dog to be part of their family and who can make room for him in their everyday lives. Experience with Dachshunds would be welcome, but a thoughtful, committed approach matters most. Please tell us about your household, any other animals and the life you could offer Stefan. 🌿 ✂️ NEUTERING AGREEMENT — £200 REFUND Stefan is not currently neutered. His adopter must agree to arrange for him to be neutered, with the timing discussed with their veterinary surgeon. Once his neutering has been completed, we will refund £200 from the adoption fee to the adopter. This is a condition of his adoption. Stefan is being rehomed as a family pet only and must not be used for breeding. Please make sure you are comfortable with this commitment before applying. 🐾 🤝 ADOPTING THROUGH FRIENDS InDEED DOG RESCUE We care deeply about where our dogs go and about the lives they will have after adoption. 🏡 A home check is required and can often be carried out online. 📝 An adoption agreement and adoption fee apply. A 💛 No payment is required until you meet Stefan. 🐾 We offer lifetime rescue back-up. 🚫 Our dogs are rehomed as pets only — not for breeding, guarding, working or service roles. We are here to discuss Stefan honestly, answer your questions and help assess whether he and your household could be a good match. 📲 PLEASE CONTACT US BY WHATSAPP OR PHONE If you feel you could offer Stefan the loving, permanent home he deserves, please get in touch and tell us a little about yourself. You can then meet Stefan in Grantham (NG31 6BY). His family have made a difficult decision. Now we want to help turn that change into a happy new beginning for this affectionate little boy. 💛 STEFAN has so much to offer. Could you be the family who gives him somewhere to belong for the rest of his life? 🏡🐾
