Description

We have avialable a kc registered west highland terrier girl through no fault of her own. Shes a lovely girl with an excellent pedigree who was originally bought for the show ring however beyond her puppy days she did not like it at all. She is shy and submissive by nature and she absolutely hated the bright lights, noise and glam and no matter how much exposure and training she had it is not in her to want to do it or like it. We have all of our westies living in our home so have limited space and she is currently being left out of all the road trips and training days etc so we came to the decision to find her a forever family. We insist she will be for a pet home only!! Her personality. As mentioned she is a timid/shy girl who wouldnt say boo to a ghost. She has NO form of aggression in her. She is sweet, loving and affectionate and absolutely loves cuddles and gentle belly rubs. She is totally devoted to her family but takes a few mins to warm to people and does not like being around strangers (such as people coming to say hello out on a walk). She currently lives with several other dogs and she is much more confident when they are with her. She is submissive and does not cause any trouble in the pack and she is always so happy when we come home from a show, greeting everyone like we have been away for a year. What family would suit her Unfortunately she does not get on with cats She would be good with a male dog or another submissive female providing they were introduced sensibly. She wouldnt really suit children younger then 6. Shes not used to rough play and doesnt like it. She lives with my 6 year old and is great with him but I often have to explain to him that he needs to play more gentle with her compared to the others An older/ retired couple would be great or a family with older children and someone who would be home a good part of the day . She prefers slow exploritive walks over running in a field Prefers "roll the ball fetch" than anything like tug of war. She is an old soul in a young body . She has no health conditions. No allergies and no sensitivities that we are aware of She is crate trained and clean overnight etc. but can have accidents if left at home.
