Description
3x healthy twigs 5–8 cm, collection only.
I’ve been fortunate to raise youngsters from my breeding pair. I’d love to keep them all, but as they’re growing quickly, I won’t have enough space for so many adults and would like to find good homes for some of them.
They have been raised in a mature planted aquarium and are feeding well on algae wafers, sinking foods, natural biofilm and fresh vegetables such as cucumber and salad leaves. Mulberry leaves are a particular favourite.
The twig catfish grow to around 15 cm as adults, so a good-sized aquarium is essential.
They love to nibble and graze on wood and other surfaces where biofilm develops, as well as resting and grazing on long plant leaves. A mature, planted tank with plenty of wood and grazing surfaces is therefore a must.
Our water parameters: TDS around 230–250, GH around 6 and KH around 3. I use tannins in the tank. Please keep in mind that slow acclimation is important if you run your aquarium on tap water.
