Description
Reluctant sale of our 2 year old, KC Registered, Dark Brindle Boxer Bitch.
She is house trained and crate trained. Vaccinations are up to date, flea and wormer is up to date, Eye Tested, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) Clear, Tested Clear under the BBA / KC / ISDS Eye Scheme, Heart tested by a cardiologist by stethoscope and Doppler scan and she has a grade 3 heart murmur. The cardiologist said that this will not have a detrimental effect on her, or her life expectancy though.
She is currently fed twice a day on Butternut Box and Orijen kibble. She is exercised twice a day at 6am and 2pm and gets a 40 minute walk each time which is approx 2.5 miles each walk. She will then happily sleep in her crate in between her walks. She loves to chase a ball and enjoys going in water. She has good recall off the lead. She is very boisterous and plays very roughly with our other boxer. She is a very dominant dog and doesn’t mix well with other dogs. She often fights aggressively with our other boxer which is the main reason for us having to sell her. She gets food aggression with our other dogs, but is fine around food with us and our children. She is amazing with our children which makes this decision even harder, but we cannot have her fighting in the house with our other dog, as on a couple of occasions she has sent the children flying.
She barks when someone knocks on the door or when she hears noises or other dogs barking when in the garden. She is very affectionate and likes to cuddle on the sofa at night. She likes to cuddle with our children and we trust her around our 8 year old, 6 year old and 1 year old. Who lie on her, cuddle her, feed her, and play with toys with her. She loves Yak bars, peanut butter Kongs and all varieties of toys. She is very high energy boxer dog and she needs plenty of exercise and stimulation. She likes going to the beach and chasing her ball. She likes going on the paddle board with us. She loves food, she likes to surf the worktops in the kitchen and jump up at the kitchen table and will steal food off the sides if given the opportunity. She likes to have zoomies around the garden and to cause mischief if left unattended!
She pulls on her lead when being walked and gets excited when she sees other dogs and will bark and/or growl at other dogs. She is quite unpredictable with other dogs. We have her off the lead at the beach, but I keep a very close eye on her and make sure she is always occupied with her ball and/or given lots of treats for her recall. She isn’t a fan of poodle and poodle mix dogs, as she will have no hesitation in reacting to them should they bear their teeth or snarl.
She is microchipped. She has been insured with Petplan since we bought her and she has no excluded conditions and we have never had to use the insurance for her as she has always been in good health. She is approx 25kg and the vet always compliments on her coat and perfect weight. She is very fit and healthy.
We think that she would suit a home where she is the only dog. She would need to live with someone who is home all day or works from home as this is what she is used to, but can be left in her create for a few hours. She will bark if left for prolonged periods on her own.
