Archieโs journey has been anything but easy.
As a tiny puppy, Archie and his brother Arny were rescued by sheer miracle from the war town of Pokrovsk, just days before the last civilians fled and the area was partially captured. They were brought to safety and raised together by a devoted volunteer in a small rural mini-shelter, surrounded by care, routine and kindness.
In November, the two ginger 8 months old brothers arrived in the UK full of hope. Sadly, the scale of change proved overwhelming. Two adolescent, upper-medium pups needed slow, patient guidance to adapt to an entirely new world, and that level of time was not possible. They were returned.
The brothers were then separated into excellent foster homes and made real progress. Both moved on to potential adoptive families. For Arny, that looks like a happy ending. For Archie, sadly, it was not. His family has now asked for him to return to rescue due to personal circumstances and not having the time required to continue his socialisation and confidence work.
Once again, Archie is searching for stability.
๐ Archie is a 10-month-old ginger boy, medium to upper-medium in size, with a sweet, gentle and well-natured temperament. He is affectionate, polite and deeply people-oriented, but also very sensitive to his environment and struggles when life feels busy, noisy or unpredictable.

๐ Rescue Story
Archie is not traumatised by war โ he was too young to remember it. What has affected him is growing in very rural quite place, repeated upheaval, changes of home, and the pressure of adapting too quickly to environments that are simply too stimulating for him right now.
He is a dog who needs not busy environment, structure predictability to feel safe.
๐พ More About Archie
Archie is, in his familyโs words, a lovely, well-natured dog. Indoors he is clean, tidy and polite. He sleeps well through the night in his own bed, is fully housetrained, and clearly lets you know when he needs the toilet. He responds well to both verbal and hand commands, waits calmly for food, allows people through doors first, and enjoys toys and treats (especially carrots), often taking them to his mat to keep things tidy.
However, Archie struggles with separation and overstimulation. He finds it difficult when either person leaves the house. He is uncomfortable with visitors and becomes anxious around unfamiliar people.
Outdoors, Archie is currently overwhelmed. He is easily spooked by noises such as aeroplanes, helicopters, large vehicles and sudden sounds. Inside the home, he can also remain on alert, listening and reacting to outside stimuli.
Archie is a sensitive dog who currently finds busy environments exhausting. He needs company, either from people or another calm dog, and a much quieter setting than he has experienced so far.
With guidance, structured training and a calmer lifestyle, these behaviours are very workable.
๐ก Ideal Home
Archie needs a quiet, rural or very semi-rural home, with minimal outside foot traffic, no busy roads, and patient, confident people who understand sensitive dogs. A secure garden is essential.
He would benefit enormously from living with a calm, balanced female dog who can provide reassurance, and humans around most of the time. Archie is not suited to busy households, frequent visitors, or people away from home for long periods.
This must be a home willing to work with a professional behaviourist and allow Archie to progress at his own pace.
๐ Archie is not broken, difficult or unlovable. He is a young dog who has been asked to cope with too much, too fast. In the right environment โ calm, steady and understanding โ he will be the dog who he is: a deeply loyal, affectionate and rewarding companion.
