Description

Our beautiful girl Cameo is looking for her forever family home. She will be 1 year on 27th July 2026. Due to an unfortunate change in work circumstance we feel we can no longer give her the love and attention that she definitely deserves and adores. It's upsetting to write this as she comes from such a loving family home . She came into our family at 9 weeks old and loved her from minute 1. Cameo adores children, she has always been around them, my own two children are 14 & 11 and I work as a childminder with various ages. Cameo is so content and gentle with all of them as well as adults. She always excited to see others, when at home she will greet by wagg her tail and finding a shoe to hold and wait for a cuddle, when out on walks she'll lie down in front of people's feet and wait to be stroked. She rarely barks at people, only if they are dressed in dark hoodies with the hood up. Cameo can follow demands 'sit' 'down' 'wait' 'drop (with a reward' 'fetch' 'up'. She has the best recall when out on walks. She loves being off the lead once we reached the meadows, forests and beach. She is a good girl on the lead too - only pulls a little if she spots a bird or she needs the toilet and wants to find a patch off grass. She is fully toilet trained. She was crate trained when little but she now likes to sleep anywhere she feels comfortable whether that's alone downstairs or upstairs in one of our bedrooms or landing. Cameo is good at getting showered and she's loves to swim in the river especially to retrieve a ball. Cameo is cheeky when it comes to our food times, not so much with me but she will try and get food from the others in the family and often alot of barking to get attention even though we give her own food the same time as us. She is getting better when we cook bbqs, she just needs distraction and playtime when it's prep and cooking time. She will be by your feet if she hears a packet rustle or the fridge door is open! When Cameo is in need of something she will bark and jump up, we say 'Show me' and she'll take us to where she needs ie the back door, her harness or the snack cupboard! She is a very clever girl! We love her to bits. She is ok for a small period on her own, she has been very lucky since she arrived in October that both my husband and I have worked from home. But this will be changing and we feel we can't leave her on her own for longer periods as it may distress her. This will be a requirement for her future family home. Cameo is just entering her 2nd season hence why she'll be ready in August. She's be fine with it, she just misses the daily walks off the lead.
