🐾 Meet Raptor
Raptor came into our care extremely underweight, suggesting he may have been straying for quite some time or simply hasn’t had the care he deserved. Since arriving, he’s been on a carefully managed weight-gain plan and is already looking so much healthier.
We believe Raptor may have very limited or no hearing. He does not like his ears being touched and can flinch at sudden movements, which suggests he may not have had the kindest experiences in the past. Because of this, he needs a patient, understanding home where he feels safe and respected.
💛 Personality
Raptor is a laid-back, gentle soul. Once he trusts you, he absolutely loves a fuss and enjoys pottering around the field, taking in all the scents at his own pace.
He walks nicely on the lead and doesn’t usually pull. He’s also a clever boy, he can sit and give both paws… especially if you come prepared with high-quality treats (only the best will do for Raptor!).
🐕 Other Dogs
Raptor previously went on a home trial but has since returned to our care. In that home, he was reported to be strong on the lead when pulling towards other dogs and was described as reactive. However, here at the kennels, he has been settled and calm around the dogs he’s met.
👨👩👧👦 Children & Other Animals
Raptor can live with children aged 10 years and over who understand the importance of giving him space and avoiding sudden movements.
We are currently unsure how he would be around cats. Given Raptor's age and having already been returned to us, we feel he would be best as the only dog.
Raptor is looking for a calm, patient home that will give him the security he’s been missing. With time, understanding, and a few top-tier treats, this gentle older boy will make a wonderfully loyal companion.
