It’s with a very heavy heart that we’re looking to find a truly special home for Charlie due to a change in work circumstances. He’s used to being out and about, exploring and involved in daily life, and it simply isn’t fair for him to be left home alone most of the day. He deserves more than that.
Charlie (KC registered as Kenleap Cash In Your Chips) is a 19-month-old, 5 generation KC registered Labrador Retriever, born 31/07/2024, with an abundance of Field Trial Champions in his bloodline. He is a stunning example of the breed – fit, athletic and in beautiful condition. He comes with all of his KC paperwork, is microchipped, fully up to date with vaccinations (next due October 2026), treated with Bravecto for fleas and Milpro for worms, and is DNA health tested. He is not neutered.
Most importantly, Charlie has the most gentle, happy nature. He absolutely adores children and is incredibly respectful around them. He will sit and “beg” with those soft Labrador eyes, but he would never snatch food – especially not from a child. He doesn’t jump up, waits to be invited onto furniture, and is calm and well-mannered in the house. He will bark to let you know someone is at the door, but stops as soon as he’s told.
He loves his toys (his rabbit teddy is his pride and joy 🥰) and would happily play fetch all day if you had the energy! He has fantastic recall to both his name and a gundog whistle, walks beautifully to heel and doesn’t pull on the lead. He knows his basic commands – sit, stay, wait, lie down, bed and paw – and he’s started his gundog training. With the right person, he has all the makings of a brilliant pick-up dog during the season. He genuinely wants to please.
Charlie is fully house trained, has no separation anxiety and can be left without destroying the house – he simply settles down and sleeps. He currently lives with two cats and pays them very little attention. While we don’t have another dog at home, he can be a little unsure when first meeting new dogs and may give a couple of wary barks, but once he realises they’re friendly he relaxes and is lovely with them.
He can live happily in the house or a kennel setup. He travels fine in the car – it’s not his favourite place in the world, but he knows it means an adventure and jumps in willingly.
Charlie will leave with all of his belongings: bowls, food, toys, treats and chews, whistle, bed, collar and lead, along with his KC paperwork.
We are looking for an active home – an individual or family who will take him on plenty of adventures, keep him mentally and physically stimulated, and maintain his lovely lean condition (no chunky Labradors here! 😄). He will not go to just anyone or simply the first person to message. Finding the right home is the absolute priority, so please don’t be offended if we ask you a few questions too.
