Description
Otto is a wonderful 8 month old puppy full of life and excitement for the world.
He's good on a lead, loves playing with toys and is very food motivated! He's very curious, and is a lap dog to the fullest extent.
We ourselves rehomed him, so I will be honest and say I am unsure if he socialized around other dogs - he does growl and lunge around other dogs, so his new owners will need to show him the ropes and that other dogs are friends and not something to be fearful of!
He used to be housed with a cat, but I don't think it was a great experience, so I would advise no other pets - and if there's an older dog in the home it is to your own discretion.
He's never been aggressive to a human, there's no resource guarding and he is very happy to have his paws touched and played with as well as having his teeth examined - and your fingers in his mouth (if you should need to!)
I don't believe he is crate trained - my partner and I have tried him in the crate and he didn't like it at all - however he does know "sit", "paw" (and he gives you both of them in turn, very cute) and "lie down" - he's a very intelligent dog and I do believe he can be trained very quickly (I taught him "lie down" in a day.)
He is not currently neutered. I took him to the vet last week and he is in fantastic shape - all vaccines and treatments are covered - he just needs his worm tablet every month! Due to his Dachsund-shape his new owner would need to be aware of the dangers of IVDD (and other Dachsund breed normalities!)
We're only parting with him due to life and mental health circumstances. We're very keen to make sure he goes to his forever home with a family who can give him the time and love that he needs and deserves.
Everything he has here is yours if you want it - there's food, clothing, beds, toys car seat, and crate etc :)
Very happy to answer any and all questions - thanks so much for looking :)

Pros
Exceptionally long lifespan of 12 to 16 years with good care
Low grooming requirements for short-coated individuals — weekly brushing is sufficient
Compact, adaptable size suits flat and apartment living
Lively, entertaining companion with great personality for experienced small-dog owners
Cons
Dachshund heritage carries a serious risk of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) — spinal health must be carefully managed
Independent, stubborn character from both parent breeds makes training a challenge without consistency
Strong prey drive from both parents means unreliable recall and risk around small animals
Not well suited to families with very young children due to small size and occasional snappiness
