Meet LUCKY, a charming little scruffy boy with bright eyes, a waggy tail and a big personality packed into a compact body. He’s the sort of dog who quickly becomes part of the furniture — following you around the house, watching everything you do and happily curling up nearby when it’s time to relax. 🐾
Lucky has already overcome a difficult start in life and now simply needs the right understanding home where he can feel secure and loved.

• Coat: Scruffy, medium length
• Colour: Cream / light tan with white markings
• Sex: Male
Lucky has that irresistible scruffy “terrier mix” look — expressive eyes, whiskery face and a constantly wagging tail.
🧬 Possible Breed Mix
Lucky appears to be a lovely combination of Terrier-type breeds, possibly including:
• Border Terrier / Jack Russell Terrier influence (scruffy coat, alert expression)
• Possibly Cairn Terrier or small mixed terrier lines
This gives him that classic clever, lively, characterful terrier personality — affectionate with his people but also alert and observant of the world around him.
🐾 His Story
Lucky was originally found as a street dog in a remote town, likely neglected by irresponsible owners. When he was rescued he was very malnourished and had never been properly vaccinated.
Thankfully, he was given a second chance and recovered beautifully with good care, food and kindness.
In October 2025, Lucky was adopted by a lovely family in Stoke-on-Trent. Unfortunately, due mainly to the owners’ declining health, they recently made the very difficult decision to return him to us.
They cared for him deeply, but they struggled with managing his behaviour when visitors arrived in the home.
Lucky is now back with us and once again looking for a stable, understanding forever home.

Lucky is:

Once he bonds with his family he becomes a very devoted companion.
Like many small terriers, he can be a little suspicious of strangers entering the home, and he may bark or act protective initially. With calm introductions and sensible management, he settles well.

Lucky would do best in a home that:
✔ Understands terrier personalities
✔ Is calm and predictable
✔ Has experienced or confident dog owners
✔ Can manage introductions to visitors sensibly
✔ May have another friendly dog — or be the only dog

Lucky is not a difficult dog, but he does benefit from owners who understand how to guide a clever, slightly protective little terrier.

He recovered fully from his poor start in life.

With calm introductions and clear guidance from his owners, he settles well and can learn that visitors are nothing to worry about.
This is very typical behaviour for many terrier-type dogs and simply requires sensible management.

Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
