Cosmo – Large Breed Female – Needs Experienced Single-Dog Home
Cosmo is a large breed female looking for a committed, experienced home where she can be the only dog.
She is affectionate, people-focused and bonds strongly with her handlers. She enjoys walks, engagement and being involved with her humans. She is intelligent and responsive, and with the right structure she has a lot of potential, just a note that we have had her just over 2 weeks and the progress she is making is amazing but she has a long way to go on lead, with people and with other dogs so an experienced dog handler would be ideal, she hasn’t had the easiest of starts but is responding well to strict structure.
However, she has shown resource guarding behaviour in our multi-dog household, particularly around food and human attention. This has resulted in serious incidents with our older male dog. For this reason, Cosmo is not suitable for a home with other dogs and will need continued behavioural guidance and management.
We have recently had her coat shaved. This was done due to severe matting from her previous environment before coming to us. Her coat will grow back normally, but she may look different from typical breed photos at the moment.
What Cosmo needs:
• An experienced, confident owner familiar with large breeds
• A single-dog household (no resident dogs)
• Structured boundaries and ongoing training
• Careful management around food and high-value items
• Ideally an adult-only home or older, dog-savvy children
She would likely thrive in a calm, structured environment where she does not feel the need to compete for resources.
This decision has not been taken lightly. Our priority is safety and ensuring Cosmo is placed in an environment where she can succeed long-term. We will be fully transparent about her history with serious enquiries.
